Welcome to HeartSpace Counseling. My name is Catharine Guicheney, and I have been blessed to work with folks from all walks of life as a board certified licensed clinical social worker for over 30 years. I gear my practice towards after hours support with appointments available Tu & Th in the evenings and on Saturdays for virtual sessions. I am currently unable to accept new clients due to lack of connectivity related to the devastation my community has experienced in the wake of hurricane Helene. As soon as I am able to see clients again, this page will be updated.

My style of counseling can be described as relaxed, supportive, educational, offering space for what is most distressing with opportunities to consider different perspectives. Most of my experience has revolved around helping adults adjust to life altering events with a focus on trauma, loss and grief.

Struggles in life are inevitable. Good mental health care helps turn down the volume on anxiety, depressive, and trauma symptoms making the overwhelming waters more manageable. My goal is to create an safe, open, supportive environment for you which fosters your healing, growth and resilience.
